Today we went to 2 National Parks: The Wind Cave and The Badlands...both near Wall, South Dakota.
The Wind Cave park had the 4th longest underground cavern tunnel in the world, until a little while ago when Mexico joined two of their tunnels together. We took a guided tour, went down lots of stairs and learned about "boxwork" formations.
We saw wild bison, deer, prairie dogs, and rabbits!The Badlands were beautiful formations of rock covering such an extensive area! What a fun day!

ReplyDeleteHaha my first thought upon seeing the Bison was "shoot it!" - my only experience with Bison being the Oregon Trail computer game =P My second thought was, that's not a good thing to be doing, they're probably endangered now, and how amazingly huge he is!

ReplyDeleteRachel, I ate a bison burger on the train, so I don't think they're endangered. If it's wild, go ahead and shoot it, as long as you eat it. ;)
