Day 27: Life With Grandma!

Life in Portland has both similarities and contrasts to Pittsburgh.

Grandpa likes his house hot, Grandma's house feels cool. Grandpa stays up late and rises late, Grandma's up with the bir
ds. Grandpa's house is filled with sugary treats, Grandma's house is mostly sugar free.

However, one thing is constant in both States...yardwork is always there to do!

Portland is finally getting sun after a long season of rain, so things are green andon her mighty riding mower after dinner, cutting the grass. (Micky, her cousin, is buying it, but we're keeping it until the last minute.) I think she'll miss her mower at Kerry's house, but she's taking her shovel for gardening!

Dan had a fun challenge of getting an impossibly high cobweb down from the basement ceiling over the stairs. (It
looked like an adrenaline rush of a job to me.) Dan stood on the top of the pipe stair railing with one foot, and the other on a wall beam. He taped a duster to the top of a broom handle... and took the spider out!

  1. Another contrast: Grandpa has wireless broadband Internet... Grandma has no Internet - we go out a few times each day in search of free internet :-)

  2. Oh and another, Grandpa uses full cream milk with vitamin D and Grandma uses blue milk =)
