We made it! Here we are in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
We got our pick of rooms at the Carson mansion, but we had to choose wisely. Which room could absorb our stuff the most easily without looking messy? The real estate agent could call at any time and we'd have to leave so a prospective buyer could look at the house.
After dinner, Grandma and I looked at old slides and laughed 'til we cried. A couple of times she would ask, "Who is this woman?"...and it turned out to be her. She didn't recognize herself with a full head of dark hair!
Bedtime couldn't come soon enough, though. What with yet another time change and only 4 hours of sleep the night before, a girl could get tuckered out!
The picture was Mt Hood - all of the north side was covered with clouds (actually all of Portland was covered with clouds - the rain welcomed us "home")
