2015 Furlough: "The Boys!"

There they were.  My husband, former chemical engineer turned missionary, and my nephew, aerospace engineer working for NASA.  Both of them were studying the back of a Honeynut Cheerio box of cereal, working out the minimum and maximum Cheerios to be won by playing the game on the back of the cereal box.  They were having fun.  Engineers!  Neither one was playing the game, which is how I would have fun.

Also, Dan has discovered a game one can play with the powerful air-blowing hand dryer in the public restrooms.  (The air is so powerful that the skin on a person's hands gets blown around into interest shapes.)  Dan says that it's possible to make a variety of noises by differing the placement of your loosely clasped hands under the blower.  (I have yet to try this.)

It's so nice to see that the playful side of my husband is back.  When we left New Zealand, he was as close to being burned out as I've ever seen him.  While ministry was so exciting for him, all the island travel plus everything else going on left him in need of a break.

It took until after the first half of our furlough to see the old Dan back in good form again.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our restoration by providing beds, meals, encouragement, and loving friendship!  (And also to Kevin and Kim for allowing us to discover the wonder of reclining armchairs at the movies!)
