Day 45: We Are in "I-O-Way"

The corn is more than "knee high on the 4th of July." It's about waist high...but lack of rain is a worry.

The Comets are in the play-offs again this year.  (Girls softball team.)  We went to the game across the street.  It felt like the islands, weather-wise.  Whew, was it hot and humid...but we won!  There's one more game across the street...and if we win and are not eliminated, then the games get played further afield.

Grandma likes her new home.  She has her room fixed up very cosily.  She said she's been so busy that she hasn't watched the TV in her bedroom much.  Because Kerry and Marijke both work, Grandma has taken on some of the household chores:  dishes, ironing, floors (sweeping), and gardening.  She drives to Marshaltown quite comfortably...which is farther away than Lloyd Center!  AND, once a month, Grandma goes out to lunch with the widows & widowers group from church.  She's done well in carving out a life for herself here.  (Well done, MOM!)

  1. Hurray for Grandmama! I hope I grow old with as much poise and joy as her (and Grandpa M as well). =)
