Day 44: Happy 4th!

Over 100 degrees F (41 C) and high humidity, and with bugs outside that attic picnic food...we had a quiet 4th of July inside in the air conditioning.

Quiet?  Well, you know us.

We had a huge picnic dinner inside:  red, white, and blue jello salad, blue-corn chips (Did you know there was such a thing as blue corn?) with red salsa and white sour cream dip, hamburgers, and watermelon!

We watched fireworks on TV, which, granted , wasn't as loud and exciting as outside.  However, it was broadcast from Boston and had the Boston symphony performing.  And Drew quite liked identifying all the instruments, seeing the spectacular fireworks (some we had never seen before), and the whole family could sing along uninhibitingly to God Bless America, and Battle Hymn of the Republic!

I tried to get Kerry to teach Dan and me the courtly dance moves from Cinderella, but he wouldn't.  (He'd been studying the choreography all day because he is again directing the high school musical this year.)  I guess if we want to do the courtly moves we'll have to study them for ourselves on youtube.
