2015 Furlough: "Cape May!"

I wish you could have seen Cape May and had a chance to talk with Karl and Judy, who have just retired there.  Both the place and the couple are filled with stories worth hearing.

Karl and Judy lived in the Middle East and had such insight, and told us of experiences that both tried and enriched their lives.  It was wonderful to exchange stories about living in another culture, and to tell each other about heart-changing moments.

The Zieglers took us for a walk into the quaint Victorian town the evening we arrived.  The Chamber of Commerce was showing the movie "Jaws" on the outside of a big building right on the beach, so we carried our chairs with us.  (Brave of them, considering the subject matter.)  At the last minute, the venue was changed to inside the building because of a predicted thunderstorm.  Everyone stashed their chairs along the hallway and went into the auditorium.  Before the movie started, the audience all sang an old song about Cape May.  (Grandma would have loved it!)

The next day we walked into town and took a horse and buggy tour of the historic district, hearing a history of different Victorian houses, hotels, and other buildings.  (Now THAT'S the way to learn history!)

In the buggy in back of the horse
Our buggy driver was dress in Victorian attire
