2015 Furlough: "The Bent Fork!"

Had our last presentation at a church 2 hours away.  It was for a Sunday School class, which meant leaving at 6 a.m.  Everything went well until the church service.  The room was warm and a little stuffy for sleepy people.  We were sitting in the front, right in front of the preacher.  I looked over at Dan after the prayer and...Maybe people thought he was just praying for an extended time.  I gave him a jab and he luckily awoke without a sound.

After church we were taken to lunch at one of the most creative restaurants I've ever been in.  It was called The Bent Fork.  Pieces of old furniture were recycled, taken apart, painted, and used in really fun ways.  The light fixtures had teacups for lamp shades, the four sides of my square table had a keyboard painted on each side, cupboard doors of the same size were painted different colors and lined up along the bottom of the wall to create a panelled border. 

I ordered a "quirky turkey" sandwich because it sounded good and I especially liked the name.  Dan ordered a "huevas infierno" (egg salad sandwich with hot sauce, among other things.)  Yum!  I wish you could have seen the place!
