We arrived back in Pittsburgh in time to be part of a huge gathering for Steve's birthday. There were a great bunch of people there who had so much to teach me.
The Zimmermans gave us some marshmallow guns. (Karen said that these were important to have as a grandma.) They are blow guns made out of PCV pipe. You put a miniature marshmallow in it, blow hard, and shoot your grandchildren. The dog cleans up the mess. What do you think? (Emily, Karen's granddaughter, was grinning and nodding her head in agreement!)
David and Melanie were there with Brooklyn, and they showed us the "Dead Bug Dance." (Brooklyn wasn't interested at the time, but we're told she does it at home.) They simply lay on their backs and wiggle they're arms and legs in the air. What a fun family!
I also learned what the road sign "No Jake Brake Area" meant. (That was a new one to me.) I understand the sign is meant for big rigs (like 18-wheelers or something.) Jake Braking is when the driver down-shifts to slow his vehicle...thus making a lot of noise. (Dan says New Zealand calls this "engine braking.") So, when the kids are sleeping, no "Jake Braking," you guys!
