We just got back from a long weekend trip to New York! We went up to stay at someones house for a night, then we went up to church - where my parents did one of their presentations and spoke about their ministry and also saw some of their supporters after church.
Then we packed up and left to a motel (where we spent the night) and watched a movie and relaxed. In the morning (this would be Monday morning) we drove to Lake Ontario. Then we went to a orchard which took part in the underground railroad in old times ago - but that was closed only on Mondays... hmmm, kinda ironic... and then we drove to Buffalo to see where Teddy Roosevelt was inaugurated - but that too, was closed, only this time it was for renovation or something. =) So then we got lost in Buffalo city and drove all around and ended up driving past the "general mills" factory. And it smelled really good! =) like Lucky Charms... =P so we continued to drive all around the city and saw half of a stadium that was being torn down, and lots of really big churches that were quite old, but very pretty.

So then we got un-lost, and travelled to Presque Isle State Park - which was a state park in Erie (PA) on a peninsula. =) So we went on a big drive all around it, looking for animals. We saw turkeys, birds, squirrels, a rabbit, and something strange that looked like a ground hog but with a really long, hairless, black, skinny tail. It turned out to be a muskrat. But I could do without the tail... =) So that was all very fun! and at the state park, we got out several times and walked on the beach and, twice, we saw a light house. It was all really pretty. All the water around it was lake Erie =)
We stopped at a restaurant for a late dinner. Which was SO yummy! And then, after that, we drove back home.

So that's pretty much our trip... it was lots of fun! =)
Wow, that sounds like a fantastic trip! I love old churches and it would be so cool to see some underground railroad stuff. Too bad it was closed. Too bad I wasn't there.
ReplyDeleteHaha, well I'm glad it was fun. =) I would've been so frustrating have two of my destinations closed and then getting lost! Cool pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou'd be frustrating, huh? =)
